Adam Bortolussi
Executive Chef
Born and raised in Los Gatos, Chef Adam Bortolussi’s love for food and hospitality was nurtured from an early age in the heart of his large Italian family. The kitchen was the center of daily life, a place where tradition, connection, and flavor came together in every meal.
A graduate of Los Gatos High School, Chef Bortolussi began his culinary journey at Double D’s, our sister restaurant, where he gained early hands-on experience and a passion for the craft. In February 2008, he formally pursued his culinary education, refining his skills and laying the groundwork for a career defined by excellence and creativity.
He joined our Danville location as a sous chef in 2009 and was promoted to Executive Chef in 2011, a position he held until 2018. During that time, he played a key role in shaping the restaurant’s elevated dining experience and leading a dynamic culinary team.
Chef Bortolussi went on to take leadership roles at renowned establishments, including Blackhawk Grille (2018–2019) and both locations of Willard Hicks. Following those experiences, he transitioned to working as a private chef from 2021 to 2024, a move that allowed him to deliver highly personalized culinary experiences while also spending valuable one-on-one time raising his children.
Now leading the kitchen at our Los Gatos steakhouse, Chef Bortolussi returns to his roots with classical training, a deep commitment to hospitality, and a heartfelt connection to the community that shaped him. His cuisine reflects tradition, precision, and an unwavering dedication to excellence.
